Prayer Shawls

Several members of our congregation make beautiful prayer shawls to encourage those in need. During our Sunday worship service, we regularly dedicate shawls with prayer, and they are then taken by members of our congregation to those who are ill or facing difficult times in their lives. The shawls serve as a reminder that God is with us through thick and thin.

West Rockingham Food Pantry

We support the West Rockingham Food Pantry through our ongoing collection of needed items. Each month, we designate Items of the Month that are in particular demand at the pantry and invite everyone to bring them in as a part of their offering during Sunday worship.

The Food Pantry is housed at nearby Cooks Creek Presbyterian Church and distributes food on the fourth Thursday of each month. Along with many other community churches and service organizations, we rotate responsibility for distribution.

Camp Overlook

Here at Mount Clinton, we have had a long-standing relationship with Camp Overlook here in the Shenandoah Valley. Rev. Roy Hedrick, our pastor in the 1960's, and several members were instrumental in the founding and building of the camp, and Rev. Hedrick served as the camp's first director.

We continue our tradition of helping children to grow in their faith through our financial support of Camp Overlook and by our commitment to pay to send all children in our congregation to camp each summer.  We also raise money for Camp Overlook by fielding foursomes to play in the annual golf tournament.

Fall Festival

Last fall, we hosted a Fall Festival to benefit the Food Pantry. We enjoyed live music from several area acts, barbecue, soup, and desserts, and games for the kids. We also held a silent auction of crafts and theme baskets. With the community's support, we raised over $2200 to help those in need.

HARTS Shelter

We support the Harrisonburg and Rockingham Thermal Shelter by partnering with host churches to provide a meal for guests of the shelter. This winter, we are partnering with other area churches once a month to feed the hungry and build relationships with the least among us.

Mission Trips

We recently sent a team of youth and young adults on a mission trip to Washington, DC. We worked with ministries in the city that reach out to those who are hungry and/or homeless.

We also encourage and support the members of our congregation who participate in mission work both near and far. In the past year, we have had people go on trips to Tennessee, Honduras, and Israel.

Community Groups

We regularly host meetings of the West Rockingham Ruritan Club and the Derby of the Pack 83 Cub Scouts.
