Gordon Meriwether, Guest Speaker, Sunday, September 13, 2026

September 12^th brought Gordon Meriwether to our church as guest speaker. Retired from the U.S. Navy, Gordon is also a retired United Methodist pastor and businessman.

He spoke on the “Rules of Engagement” that we, as Christians, face on a daily basis. He encouraged us to employ “elevator speech”, a method of summing up the Christian message in the time we would move from one floor in the elevator to another. He stressed that we CAN make a difference in the lives of others. His “rules of engagement” include love, compassion, fellowship and hospitality, forgiveness and reconciliation, humility, and strength and courage.

We thank Gordon for being in the pulpit during Rev Patricia’s vacation.
